Last week, Ambassador Weert Börner and Dr. Imke Börner, both German lawyers, paid a courtesy visit to Brunei’s Attorney General, Datin Hajah Nor Hashimah.
In a very friendly and open one-hour meeting, they discussed international rule-of-law issues and the importance of legal security in bilateral as well as regional relations. Upholding the rule of law is not only essential for domestic development, but also for a wide range of international issues - from free trade agreements and intellectual property rights to the implementation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
