For the first time, the European Union (EU) and its Member States participated in the annual Bruneian Higher Education Expo on 7th/8th February 2026 with a full-fledged booth. In the presence of EU Ambassador to Brunei, Denis Chaibi (based in Jakarta), French Ambassador Eve Lubin and German Ambassador Weert Börner with Dr. Imke Börner, the EU booth was officially visited by Bruneian Minister of Education, Datin Dr. Hajah Romaizah. The Ambassadors present also offered a panel discussion on the attractiveness and the conditions for studying in the EU and its Member States. Both, the booth and the panel discussion drew a lot of attention of young Bruneians, showing the broad offer of higher education opportunities in the EU with an excellent value-for-money ratio.
